Collage – A Place for Art and Culture, by Richard Foss

(Dec 9, 2025)

Richard Foss is the Executive Director of Collage, a 501c3 nonprofit arts venue in San Pedro that opened in July 2021. Before starting Collage with 2 associates in 2021, he had produced concerts and cultural events for Southern California organizations. He has been an author, theater director, culinary historian, museum consultant, science fiction author and graphic designer.

The Collage building was constructed in the 1920’s, enhanced by Art Deco features, and completely renovated in 2002. It is available to rent for private events such as parties and lunches. Its space is versatile and can be used theater style, set with tables, or cleared for gatherings, and has kitchen facilities.

Collage incorporates an amazing variety of visual, performative, culinary, and literary performances for the community (see current schedule at https://www.collageartculture.org/). Collage builds relationships with artistic and cultural communities and provides a space for them to come together to teach, learn, and entertain. It supports school music programs with donations of instruments and audio equipment. It has given away over 150 instruments, which are made available to individual graduating students with teacher recommendation.

Collage needs your support for financial donations, musical instrument donations, volunteering, and helping to provide interesting and challenging programs to the community. Please contact info@collageartculture.org, or go to https://www.collageartculture.org/ for more information. Collage is located at 731 S Pacific Ave (at 8th St), San Pedro, CA, 90731; Phone 424-450-8239.
