Craig Rexroad has been involved in the Long Beach Ballet Academy for many years and has two daughters in ballet. Mariano Sanz grew up in Spain and moved to California eight years ago, and has worked with Craig in promoting and acting in the annual Long Beach “Nutcracker” production, now in its 33rd year under the same director. They discussed their experiences in performing as well as family participation in the ballet.
 
 
The Long Beach Ballet Academy began as a private ballet academy and became a nonprofit ballet arts center in 1990. The Academy’s student base and programs have continued to expand, including an annual 3-week tour in China. The students have successfully competed in international ballet competitions. They have received scholarships to ballet schools throughout the US and have joined major ballet companies. The Academy has classes on 3 Pre-Ballet levels, 3 Children’s levels, Adult Elementary & Open Intermediate Advanced levels, and 8 Academy levels. It is located on 1122 East Wardlow Rd in Long Beach.
