The California Marymount University Rotaractors discussed their new members and their proposed projects. They are organizing a Backpacks & School Supplies collection between now and February for the District’s Panama Humanitarian Project, and will pick up donations at the District Breakfast on October 20.

They will attend the Big West Rotaract Conference in Seattle October 16-18, hosted by the Seattle Rotaractors. They are collecting baby supplies for the Camp Pendleton Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 24, for the Warrior Warehouse. They will have an End Polio Fundraiser October 26-30. They will participate in the Torrance Memorial Hospital Tree-Decorating Holiday Festival with Del Amo Rotary Club. Other projects include making cards for the elderly, sandwiches for skid row, and picking up trash on campus.

The Palos Verdes High School Interactors projects include Pennies for Polio, beach cleanup with Heal the Bay, and a luggage drive for foster care children, ending in February. Contact your friends and donate old pieces of luggage for these foster children to carry their personal belongings. The Interactors will participate in the Chinese New Year Parade and Dinner in Chinatown, caroling during the holidays, and a toy drive. They are also collecting used toner cartridges from computer printers to turn in to Staples and Office Depot.

We were inspired by the Rotaractors’ and Interactors’ enthusiasm for volunteer service projects, and are fortunate to have them participating with us in our Club and District service activities.
