The house was packed with guests & past members for the 25th birthday of our Club (6/7/’89). We socialized, reminisced about old adventures & projects, toasted with champagne, dined, and finished up with the birthday cake after it was displayed precariously for photos by founding member Bob McCaman.

Founding members included the crew below: Jim Gamble, Marylyn Ginsburg Klaus, Erv Samuelson (master member-recruiter), Bob McCaman, Founding President Bob Welbourn, PDG Dave Moyers, and Alberta Samuelson.

Erv Samuelson was recognized for having brought in a battalion of new members over the years (everyone brought in by Erv raise your hand!).

Marylyn Ginsburg and Bob McCaman related their experiences visiting the first Rotary Club in Moscow in the waning days of the Soviet Union, where they were warmly received.   Many other past service projects were also reviewed (we didn’t realize we had been so busy — time flies!).

When the cake was brought out, Bob McCaman displayed it precariously for the photographers, demonstrating his manual dexterity and how flexible the cake was (without getting any frosting on his fingers!).

Special thanks to our Founding President Bob Welbourn, who gathered memories and memorabilia and planned and organized this memorable event on top of his busy work schedule. Our appreciation to him was expressed by current President Sandy Farrell.  Now, back to work!
