Honoring Angi Ma Wong

Angi joined Rotary in 1993 and has served in many positions at our Club and District levels. She has authored about two dozen books including several for children, such as her memorable “Reggie, the LA Gator” (about the famous alligator found in Harbor Park and transported to the LA Zoo). She founded and promoted the annual District Rotarian participation in the Chinese New Year Gala in Chinatown, which has featured hundreds of Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors marching or watching. She led our District Group Study Exchange to Mexico.
Angi is a Past President of our Club. She has been active in Club public relations, District Picnic “Cardboard Boat” Contest, youth activities and the luggage drive for the homeless, among many others. She has always been a cheerful volunteer and an inspiration to all of us. We have great pride in honoring her tonight and reminiscing about her many contributions in Service above Self.
