Where are you from originally? If not from LA, how did you end up here?
I came to California from Ohio in 1965 when my husband was transferred from Dow Chemical. I was born in Minnesota but had lived most of my life in Akron, Ohio.

Tell us about your occupation.
I became a teacher in Akron and then in California. I taught for 30 years in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District.

What do you do for fun?
I travel, work at our church, and I work as a substitute teacher in Palos Verdes.

Why did you join Rotary and why have you stayed?
I joined to help our community and to help with Rotary's mission to help eliminate polio around the world.

What is your favorite Rotary experience?
Being in charge of our club's student talent contests in music, art, dance, and speech. And watching our contestants win first place at the District level!

What is your favorite book? Favorite movie?
My favorite books are all the children's books that I read to my classes. My favorite movies are the old James Bond movies.
