Where are you from originally? If not from LA, how did you end up here?
Wisconsin and Kansas. I served four years in the Marine Corps in Hawaii and California and stayed in California. 
 
Tell us about your occupation.
I practice family medicine - I am in part-time practice in Functional Medicine in Torrance. I am also a faculty member at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. 
 
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy foreign travel as well as community activities and events. I also enjoy studies in archaeology and history, nature and environmental issues, and health and fitness. 
 
Why did you join Rotary and why have you stayed?
I was asked to join by a good friend and stayed because of the service opportunities.
 
What is your favorite Rotary experience?
Being part of a Polio-Corrective Surgery Project in Uganda in 1998. We operated on 102 crippled children (while that country was hit by 2 terrorist attacks) – providing medical care with minimal resources, receiving gratitude of local people and Rotarians.
